Paddle Lochaber offers lots of BCU Courses that apply to both canoes and kayaks. If you would like to gain some qualifications, why not try and do a course with Paddle Lochaber. Courses include;

• BCY Costal Navigation and Tidal Planning – Learn how to plan a journey and navigate in sea conditions so that you don’t get lost.
• BCU 1 Star Award – This course is the ideal stepping stone in order to make you a more confident and competent paddler. Ideal for beiginners.
• BCY Foundation Safety and Rescue Training – Learn how to be safe and use rescue techniques. A great course for people who enjoy canoeing a lot.
• BCU 2 Star Award –Develop your skills more, and gain some more experience.

• Half day Introduction to Sea Kayaking – A great idea for beginners, all gear is provided and you will learn all the fundamentals of the sport.
• Basic Sea Kayak Safety and Rescue – If you are new to kayking and want to plan your own trips, this course focuses specifically on sea kayaks.
• Full day Introduction to Sea Kayaking – The same as the half day course, but with more opportunity to explore the area.
• One Day Sea Kayaking for Beginners – Learn basic boat handling and skills.
• Intermediate Sea Kayak Safety and Rescue – Apply the skills learnt in the previous course and apply them to a more moderate environment.
• Two Day Kayaking for Beginners – Over two days you will learn what you need to know about planning for trips, basic boat skills and more.

Two Day Sea Kayaking for improvers, a two day sea kayaking expedition with camping, a four day kayaking for beginners, a four day sea kayaking for improvers and a sea kayaking holiday trip are also available with Paddle Lochaber.
