Welcome to Outdoor + Active Centre Roadford! With over 730 acres of water, Roadford Lake is a spectacular lake set on the edge of Dartmoor between Okehampton and Launceston.

Our outdoor centre offers brilliant facilities for groups of all sorts we offer the following land and water based activities including:

We are a fabulous location for groups and individuals wanting to enjoy the water and learn new skills. We offer wetsuits and buoyancy aids included in tuition prices or you may wish to bring your own.

We can accommodate groups of all sorts from families to school trips to Corporate and Teambuilding events. You can come along and enjoy 1 or multiple of our activities for an unforgettable day out! There is also a campsite nearby for holidaymakers!

Kayaking is a versatile and fascinating water sport that practically anyone can pick up! Outdoor + Active Roadford Kayaking offers paddling experiences the extensive Roadford Lake, where you can paddle until your little heart´s content.

This refreshing activity is great for groups looking for adventure days like school excursions, Teambuilding events or an active and dynamic birthday party. They welcome paddlers of all ages and levels, and with a bit of instruction everyone will be handling the boat beautifully and confidently.

Improvised Raft Building is a star activity for a group challenge! At Outdoor + Active Roadford Rafting, team members will have to create, build and race (if it floats) the raft built by basic materials such as ropes, barrels and planks, across the lake in a feat where only one team can come out victorious.

This is an excellent activity for special events like Corporate and Teambuilding events, birthday parties or school excursions and they aim to improve cooperation, communication, leadership skills and creativity are just some of the things that will be improved with this activity.

Outdoor + Active Roadford Sailing on the Devon and Cornwall border is the largest lake for watersports in the South West making it an ideal location to learn or practise sailing. With no tides to worry about it is perfect for both beginners and experts alike.

Outdoor + Active Roadford Climbing is the perfect place to try out climbing, ideal for all weather conditions!

Our climbing wall and bouldering wall has many different features such as jamming cracks, arête climbs and a traversing wall. Both adults and children aged 8 years and over are both more than welcome to give it a go.

Our climbing wall is ideal for groups, Hen and Stag dos, Corporate and Teambuilding days, school groups, family and individuals.

Come along and enjoy this activity, our great centre is perfect for gaining the skills that will later take you onto bigger and more challenging climbs!

Rain or shine, adventurers will always be able to hit the bull´s eye at Roadford Outdoor + Active Centre. They offer this classic Robin Hood activity either indoors or outdoors so you can never get rained out or have frozen fingers! Archery is one of the oldest sports around and is now a fabulous activity for developing upper body strength, concentration and confidence!

Archery is a brilliant activity that gets everyone involved. It can be practiced alone or mixed with one (or some) of their other activities for a well rounded day of adventure. Archery gets friendly competition and is great for a laugh.

Great for Hen and Stag dos, school events and birthdays, hit the bull´s eye and choice archery at Roadford Outdoor + Active Centre!

Face your fears and have a go on the 40 foot highropes course at Outdoor + Active Roadford High Ropes. This challenging course is available to adults and children aged 8 years and over.

This course, set in a stunning location overlooking over 730 acres of water, is perfect for familys, groups, Hen and Stag dos, school and individuals alike!

The High Ropes System has two adrenalin fuelled aspects to it; the first is aerial trekking which allows the public to turn up and ‘have a go' and the other is the developmental aspect which will be more suited to groups. The course has a range of challenges like the ‘leap of faith' and the Jacobs ladder; it also has a Postman's walk and Barrel run.

Outdoor + Active Roadford Fishing extends a warm welcome to all trout anglers, whether beginner or expert.  Set in the rolling Devon hills on the edge of Dartmoor, it offers more than 700 acres of water and 8 miles of bank; it's an experience not to be missed. Fly fishing only for stocked and wild brown trout. We have a limited number of angling boats, so booking is a must. The wheelyboat should be booked with 48 hours notice.

Traditional fly patterns (Pheasant Tail Nymph, Gold Ribbed Hares Ear), as well as sedge patterns (Invicta) work well. The best sport can often be enjoyed with a dry fly in the evenings. Fish the margins and walk the banks to cover as much water as possible. ‘Catch and release' option available (barbless hooks to be used), otherwise up to 4 fish over 7" may be taken in a day.

With natural, free wilderness Roadford Lake offers an inexpensive, but maybe challenging day out in beautiful countryside.

Outdoor + Active Roadford Boat Trips is home to a new solar-powered ferry, the ‘Mary Christina’, which provides a different view of the 740 acre lake. She provides you with a great experience you just wouldn´t get on land!

Why not take a "round the lake" trip on this ferry, perfect for groups, familys and individuals it is the ideal day out.  If you are getting married at Lakeside, Roadford Lake why not turn up on this fantastic mode of transport? You will be picked up from our centre and taken across to the southern bank where you will arrive at Lakeside, ready to tie the knot at this stunning venue.
