John Cale Canal Cruises welcomes you to experience a slower pace of life, and relax and forget about your worries and enjoy the views on The Basingstoke Canal. Why not come along and hire a canoe for an hour, or even for a whole day?
If you don´t fancy trying out a canoe, but would still like to try something similar, hire a pedalo, or a rowing skiff. Using river craft on the river under your own power is great for your fitness and muscle tone, as well as being good for the environment! It is also very peaceful, and may even allow you to see more wildlife than normal!
The Pedalos and the canoes have a maximum of 2 Adults and 2 Children, and the rowing skiffs have a maximum capacity of 4 adults and 2 small children.

Why not come along one Sunday for one of John Cale Canal Cruises drop in tour on a Sunday, or book a one and a half hour Cream Tea Cruise, where you will be served fresh scones, cream and jam, cake and plenty of tea while you enjoy the river.
You can also book the Cream Tea Cruise on John Cale Canal Cruises’ Cygnet – a wheelchair accessible open pontoon boat. If you would prefer being the captain of your own boat, you can hire out the Day Dream or Astra for the day and explore the river on your own.Catered cruises are also available.
