We at Active Adventure South West are one of the south west's leading providers of adventure activities and we are also fully mobile!. We can bring the activities to you or you can meet us at one of our activity locations.

As a fully AALA licensed provider we work with youngsters and adults. Our instructors are the best the region and always provide you with an unforgettable adventure. We can cater to Hen and Stag dos, the NHS, Corporate and Teambuilding events, colleges and schools, Scout and Guide Groups, individual groups and youth groups!

Welcome to Active Adventure South West Canoeing where you can enjoy traditional style or “Canadian” style canoeing paddling either tandem or solo with a single bladed paddle.  

With some of the best venues in the region we can offer taster sessions, school, college, scout and guide groups, families and tourist groups through to coaching on grade 3 white water, specialised OC1 coaching, river running techniques and intro to white water coaching. Any ability and we will tailor the session to meet your needs. We also offer BCU course 1, 2 and 3 Star in canoe, touring and expedition. Our guides will be experienced and fully qualified to British Canoe Union, Canoe England standards!

Courses begin at a time to suit you and your group or book onto one of our open sessions where you join other canoeists then meet your guide. A half-day session will last around 2 ½ hrs with some time spent getting kitted up and an introduction to canoeing.

You need to bring: Towel, old trainers (essential), that you are happy to get wet, swimming costume, warm clothes to change into after the session, sun tan lotion and we will provide your wetsuit, helmet, buoyancy aid, canoes and paddles, any relevant safety equipment for the session and of course a friendly and experienced coach!

We run our paddling adventures at too many locations to name! Come for a paddle on flat water lakes and rivers across the south west, some of the best rivers in the country, estuaries and costal paddling, the opportunities are endless!

We are able to offer this activity to 8+ (families can book a group session with younger ask for details). We also run over 45’s only sessions, and can tailor the activity to suit the needs of your group. Non swimmers are able to join in due to extra buoyancy of the wetsuits and buoyancy aids and we will never be too far from the shore.

Our kayaking is available on countless locations from flat water lakes and some of the best rivers in the country, estuaries and even on the coast! We cater to anyone over 8 and we also run special programs for those over 40!

With some of the best surfing beaches in the UK, Active Adventure South West Surfing we offer you a brilliant surf lesson as part of an activity day combined with one of our other activities or as a standalone session.

Your guide will be experienced and fully qualified to British Surf Association (BSA) standards. Your session will involve introduction to the equipment basic techniques and board handling skills, takeoff, paddling and safety.
Courses begin at a time to suit you and your group or book onto one of our open sessions where you join other surfers, then meet your Instructor. A half day session will last around 2 ½ hrs with some time spent getting kitted up.

We provide you with all of the necessary equipment including wetsuit, boards, any relevant safety equipment for the session. Anyone over the age of 11 is welcome (with children 9+ if they come along with family) and we also offer special sessions for those over 45.

Come for the ultimate Coasteering experience with us at Active Adventure South West Coasteering! This marvelous activity involves exploring the coastline, scrambling and cliff jumping from 1 – 10 meters in height (however they not compulsory).

We are holders of a license allowing us to work with school groups, colleges, scouts and guide groups and under 18s. Your guide will be experienced and fully qualified to National Coasteering Association standards.
Courses begin at a time to suit you and your group or book onto one of our open sessions where you join other coasteerers then meet your guide. You will need to bring old clothes and trainers but we will provide you with the wetsuit, helmet, bouyancy Aid, shorts (if you forget), and any relevant safety equipment for the sessions and of course one of our experienced and fun guides!

Welcome to Active Adventure South West Climbing where you can come and enjoy one of the fastest growing sports in Britain! There are loads of indoor climbing venues but there is no substitute for natural rock!  We can take you out climbing to some of  the most stunning locations for rock climbing and for taking in the view!

We can run group sessions for up to 8 or one-to-one family sessions and introduction courses. Your guide will be experienced and fully qualified MLTUK SPA and we can cater to school groups, colleges, Scout and Guide groups and under 18s.

Our sessions last roughly 2 ½ hours and we provide you with all of the necessary gear including harness, ropes, helmets, and one of our professional and friendly instructors!

Climbers must be at least 8 years of age and we also specially cater to private sessions for over 45s! We run this activity at several different venues including the South West, Valley of Rocks Exmoor, Various Tors Dartmoor, Weston-Super-Mare, Mendips, Chudliegh. Costal climbing venues and we will choose the venue to suit your location and group needs!

Active Adventure South West Archery offers brilliant sessions or archery which is a great sport that anyone can take up at any age. Archery has a long history here in the UK and it´s a great activity to enjoy on its own or combined with one of our other activities.

Our excellent instructors will give you step by step tuition so that you can be hitting the bull´s eye in no time! We supply all of the equipment; you just need to come along in clothes that you don´t mind getting grubby.
We can offer archery at various different locations (and we try to find one close to you for your convenience) and it is an open activity for children over the age of 8 and we run special groups for those over 45.

Discover the beauty of mountain biking with Active Adventure South West Mountain Biking. We have a wide variety of trails and venues where we can run our activity with something for everyone. Whether you want the exhilaration of some of the best single track and downhill routes in the country or a more tranquil guided tour around some of the most magnificent national parks, we will design a package to meet your needs so you will get the most out of your trip!

All of our instructors are experienced and fully trained SMBLA mountain bike instructors and they will show you the basics of riding, safe stopping, control, front wheel lifts, rear wheel lifts and then lead you on an appropriate route for your group.

We provide all of the gear including helmets, gloves and bikes which are all top end front suspension disc braked bikes.

Welcome to Active Adventure South West High Ropes! We are based in Watchet, Somerset but we can also offer you high ropes and canopy experiences around the region with courses in Bridgwater, Taunton, Minehead, and Wimbleball. Our high ropes courses give you the opportunity to swing a staggering 24m high above the ground, take the leap of faith and test yourself on our balance beams.

These sessions can be run as either team building sessions, family fun days or part of corporate training day or as a bit of high adrenaline for a hen or stag party.

All of our staff are fully trained and qualified to national standards and they will guide you through all of the safety procedures and equipment that you will be using to ensure you are confident in the equipment. They will push you to challenge yourself but never push you; its all challenge by choice!

Adventure Adventure South West Paddleboarding offers the emerging watersport of Hawaiian origin! This sport started becoming popular as a way for surf instrcutors to control large groups but now it was grown and developed into a fantastic way to explore and enjoy coastal waters, rivers and lakes while getting a work out too! We can take you out into large swells or for leisurely paddles on calm lakes in the South West at locations such as Torquay, Illfracombe, Coombe Martin, Woolacombe, Croyde.

Our instructors and paddleboarding guides are qualified and experienced and can work with groups such as colleges, schools, scouts and under 18s. This is also a fantastic idea for families or for a unique Hen and Stag do or Teambuilding event!

Our sessions give you training for the basic techniques and board skills including turning, paddling strokes and safety. We supply all of the necessary equipment and we welcome all adventurers ages 11+ and we also offer special sessions for 45+.
