Description of SkydiveGB

SkydiveGB is situated just North of Bridlington so come and experience a skydive and take in the stunning views of Flamborough Head and the surrounding coast and countryside from 10,000 feet!

We are affiliated to the British Parachute Association (BPA) which is the governing body for all skydiving and parachuting in the UK, and all of our instructors are BPA approved.

Tandem Skydive

After a comprehensive safety brief on the equipment used, the plane ride to altitude and the skydive itself you will don a jumpsuit and be fitted securely into a tandem harness ready for the ultimate thrill! Once on board, you will be harnessed to a highly qualified tandem instructor ready to take off. The flight to 10,000ft takes around 20 minutes - during this time you can take in the stunning views of the Yorkshire coastline and countryside. When the engine slows down and the red light comes on it's time to open the door and get ready for the big drop - green light and GO!

When you leave the plane harnessed to your instructor you will accelerate to around 120mph and experience the rush of freefall for 30-35 seconds before the instructor opens the parachute where you will have an opportunity to steer the parachute yourself before the instructor takes over for the landing.

Once back on the ground you will be presented with a certificate to prove you've fallen out of a plane and lived and if you wish you can have a record of this unforgettable moment with our DVD and photo package.

Solo Training

If you fancy going it alone, we offer a comprehensive and competitively priced training course which will enable you to do your first parachute jump solo! After a day of ground training in and out of the classroom, you'll be ready for that leap of faith. We will take you up on the plane to 3,500ft where you will exit the aircraft on your own with an automatically opening parachute (static line) and steer it to the ground yourself. There is a radio in your helmet so we can guide you down if necessary and help you with the landing.

Once you have completed your first jump, ongoing training is available leading up to doing your first solo free-fall and right on to being a qualified solo skydiver obtaining an internationally recognized skydiving licence in as little as 16 jumps!

Medical/Age/Weight Requirements

  • Minimum age is 16 (under 18 requires parent/guardian consent) maximum age for the first solo jump is 54 - there is no maximum age for tandem skydiving.
  • Each person has to complete a medical declaration before any training and if over 40 or with any medical conditions which could be affected by skydiving, this needs to be signed/stamped by their GP.
  • Weight limits for tandem are 15.5 stone (95kg). The weight limit for solo training is 14.5 stone (92kg).

WOULD REPEAT!
Louise Dowds 10 Very good
Incredible experience, but on the whole felt a bit rushed. They were conscious they were running over.

Would have been nice for it to have been more personal rather than just another load being shoved out of a plane!

Company's response:
Hi Louise,
Are you sure you've got the right airfield? We don't have any record of you doing a skydive with us! One of the aspects of our operation we are proud of is the personal service we strive to provide.

Regards,

Skydive GB

WOULD REPEAT!
Stephen Thomas 10 Very good
Great instructors and very proffesional so our day really was unforgettable, we were put at ease with the comical banter so by the time we were at 10,000 feet there was not the mild panic I was expecting, would recommend and do again... Thanks
