Description of Skydive St. George

Come to meet us at Durham Tees Valley International Airport! Join our ex-military qualified instructors for a wonderful experience with state-of-the-art equipment.

Although experienced jumpers can use our facilities, we have many activities and courses for those who want to try skydiving for the first time in an accessible and secure way:

  • Tandem parachuting: enjoy freefalling with one of our instructors. You will only have to attend a ground briefing and ride up on our plane while you enjoy the scenery. Then our instructor will jump… and you will only have to enjoy the fall!
  • Static line jump: relish your first solo jump flying your own parachute from a distance of 3,500ft. This is the first step towards getting your license and becoming a skydiver. You will receive a minimum of 6 hours of ground training which includes drop-zone orientation, instructions on how the parachute works and how to deal with unexpected situations, among other things.
  • Progression system: after your static line jump, you might enter the progression system, a chain of 18 jumps oriented to your first solo freefall! And after that, you will be one step closer still to getting your skydiver permit

However, there are some restrictions in place. You have to be in a reasonable state of health and have a minimum age. These restrictions are:

  • Males have to weight under 15 stone (95kg) and females under 14 stone (90kg).
  • Minimum age is 16 and underaged youngsters will have to bring a signed parental consent.
  • Maximum age for the first jump is 55, though it will be assessed by an instructor and an older person might be able to jump.
  • People over 40 should bring a signed form by their GP stating that their health allows them to jump. You can find this form on our webpage.
