Skydive Academy

We are based at Shotton Airfield, Durham, a beautiful part of the country with fantastic views, and also conveniently located. 

We are normally open on weekends only, as well as Bank Holidays and Wednesday and Friday afternoons during the summer months, however, we can open every day of the week with prior arrangement. All of these hours are, of course, weather permitting.

Take a look at the courses we offer and choose the one that suits to your wants:

• Tandem Skydives: strap yourself to an experienced instructor and relish the freefall and subsequent parachute ride without doing any of the complicated stuff.

• Accelerated Freefall (AFF) courses: Train yourself to become an experienced skydiver in only 8 jumps. After that, you will be required to consolidate your knowledge before getting your skydiver's licence.

• Static Line courses and jumps: To introduce yourself in the skydiving world, this course will teach you how to land, control a parachute and deal with unexpected emergencies on air and it will even allow you to do a solo jump. 

• Static Line progression to AFF package: The course will help you evolve from the static line, where the parachute opens automatically, to AFF, where you will freefall for a few seconds before opening your parachute. 

Our Facilities are excellent and we have plenty of parking, training facilities and a canteen for you to eat while you are with us.
