We cater for individuals, families and groups. We can also accommodate up to 60 people at our centre if you are looking for an adventure holiday rather than a day out.

You can enjoy canyoning with The Glaramara Centre Canyoning in the Lake District. We have a variety of fast-flowing watercourses to choose from. They are cut deep into the hillsides and provide:

We can adapt each route to suit the age and ability of the group involved. We believe canyoning is different, exciting, popular and memorable!

The Glaramara Centre Rafting provides an excellent team building exercise. Our location offers the perfect place to construct and launch your very own raft on Derwent Water.

If you are looking for a corporate day out or perhaps you would like to celebrate a special occasion with a group of friends, we can accommodate you!

The action will take place on our updated site, on the lake side. We will introduce you to all the necessary materials that you will need to build your raft, and the rest is up to you! However, we will be on hand throughout the day to offer guidance and observe how each team works together.

Once the raft is built, we will put it to the test on the waters. The final challenge will consist of a raft race… your success will depend on the stability of your raft. All we can say is good luck!

We provide a variety of incredible walks for ramblers of all backgrounds. We will guide you to summits such as Gable and Scafell or away from the many visitors to the Lakes and to some of the best secret spots. Our local knowledge is incomparable with other hiking companies.

The Glaramara Centre Climbing is home to some of the best rock climbs in the world! The craggy rock outcrops of Borrowdale are considered superb venues for the introduction and development of rock climbing skills.

We have a team of highly qualified climbing instructors that will introduce you to the magical vertical world of climbing! We are passionate about what we do and hope that our confidence will put you at ease.

Your first session will start with an introduction to climbing equipment and the skills that are required to scale cliffs safely. Once you have grasped the basics, the fun starts! You will begin with low graded climbs and if you wish to develop further the next step would be our more advanced skills courses.

The Glaramara Centre Archery offers you the chance to be Robin Hood for the day! We invite you to come along and learn the basics of archery.

Archery is a technical sport that has been enjoyed for centuries. Our expert instructors will provide you with the perfect introduction to the activity and then you can start practicing.

We aim to develop your confidence, skill and technique irrelevant of your ability.

At The Glaramara Centre Archery we are passionate about what we do and hope to share our archery knowledge with you soon. 

At The Glaramara Centre Caving we offer a full-day adventure caving package. You will have access to the incredible underground world just beneath the Yorkshire Dales!

Our highly experienced caving instructors will introduce you to the many stunning features of limestone cave and karst scenery. They have extensive local knowledge, which will blow you away!

You will experience:

• water-worn passages
• streams
• pools
• stalactites and stalagmites
• curtains
• straws
• flowstone

And perhaps some cave-lurking creatures!

If you are looking for a challenge you may wish to explore our optional routes that include:

The Glaramara Centre Mountain Biking is located in Borrowdale. The area offers miles and miles of scenic off-road trails from steep mountain climbs to relaxed rides. There are regular stops to enable you to refuel and take in the beautiful sights!

According to your ability and experience, we will start with a comprehensive induction to mountain biking and how to get to grips with your bike. Our treks consist of half or full-day rides through forests and across fells.

For the more experienced biker, we have a selection of challenging routes for you to choose from including the Altura and Quercus trails at Whinlatter Forest.

We supply the bikes and equipment on the day, but you are also welcome to bring your own gear if you wish!

We are abseiling specialists at The Glaramara Centre Abseiling. We want you to experience the thrills of this popular outdoor activity.

We abseil down a variety of vertical drops including:

• waterfalls
• gorges
• cliffs

All of this takes place in the beautiful Lake District.

You will be guided by the best of the best in the field of abseiling. Our experienced team will provide you with the basics that you will need to start. Once your confidence has improved, you will start learning specific techniques that will enable you to complete more difficult abseils.

At The Glaramara Centre Abseiling we have a variety of impressive descents designed to test the most experienced climbers. We hope to share our passion with you soon.

The Glaramara Centre Kayaking takes place on Derwent Waters. It features five islands, is three miles long and 72 ft deep! There is no better place to practice kayaking.

We have recently updated our facilities and you will have access to changing rooms and toilets.

Your kayaking session will begin with an introduction to the paddle sport and the techniques involved. You will learn how to move your kayak on a safe and exciting journey around the lake.

We will introduce games along the way designed to enhance your skills, and you will discover ancient burial sites as well as study local wildlife. The perfect day out!

All specialist equipment is provided for. All you need to bring is you!
