SW Mountaineering is ran by Stu Wilkes who is a professional Mountaineering Instructor (MIA) and International Mountain Leader (IML) and a full member of the Association of Mountaineering Instructors (AMI), British Association of International Mountain Leaders (BAIML) and the Union of International Mountain Leader Associations (UIMLA).
Located in the village of St Mary's on the beautiful Island of Jersey in the Channel Islands of the UK. SW Mountaineering offers courses in climbing, navigation and mountaineering activities which are designed to give you a safer, more rewarding and better all-round outdoor experience.
We run courses for people from all walks of life and with all different abilities, tailoring the courses to you or your group’s level of experience.

Welcome to SW Mountaineering Climbing where you can experience climbing on the stunning island of Jersey! Run by Stu Wilkes, an experienced and qualified mountaineering instructor, you will be welcome and led out on the rocks for an exciting and dynamic rock climbing adventure.
We offer various different courses from Beginners Course where you will learn all about the climbing equipment, belaying techniques and how to climb up and abseil back down the crag.
Our Rock Progression Course is geared towards experienced rock climbers who are looking to improve their climbing technique and rope skills. You will be climbing on a climbing wall of over 12 m!
Learn to Lead is a course for proficient climber who are looking for new challenges! Gear selection and equipment maintenance is also part of this course.
Last but not least, our Problem Solving and advanced Ropework is great for multi-pitch climbing and abseiling and pre-course training for CWA, SPA, MIA, Mountain Leader ropework amongst other things!
