Sharp-Edge is an Intelligent Mountaineering and Management Training organisation.
We offer a range of experiences both in in the great outdoors and on company premises. We specialise in bespoke programmes that maximise the learning potential of both individuals and small teams.

Tom and Julie Parkin manage the business and also use a few specially selected individuals to deliver our courses. Tom holds the Mountain Instructors Certificate, The International Mountain Leader Award and a Diploma in Sports Psychology. Both Tom and Julie are also qualified teachers and possess a wealth of commercial experince as well.

We offer guided hikes and climbs all year round in mountainous regions of the UK and can provide support and assistance for those looking to complete the British 3 Peaks Challenge to expeditions abroad.
We also provide training for the NNAS so that you can always find your bearings and become a competent navigator. If climbing is more your field of interest, we offer instructional sessions and experiences on the best natural rock in the country and winter ice.

We at Sharp-Edge Hiking are an outdoor adventure company geared towards Intelligent Mountaineering! We have years of experience in the great outdoors of the UK and around the world and we offer challenging, guided hiking and scrambling experiences in some of the most stunning locations like The Lake District and North Wales.

We are delighted to host Teambuilding events and we offer superb training during your experience. Our leader Tom is a Sport Psychologist and is qualified under the M.I.C., and as a UIMLA Mountain Leader.

Welcome to Sharp-Edge Climbing and enjoy climbing on the wonderful natural rock of Northumberland or winter climbing in Aviemore, The Northern Cairngorms or Fort William in the Highlands. 

We offer a wide variety of climbing experiences for all levels! Our climbing sessions can be geared to those new to the sport or who are making the transition to outdoor rock or for those looking to try winter climbing, we run this activity in Scotland.

Our instructor Tom is qualified by the M.I.C., UIMLA Mountain Leader, and is a Sport Psychologist and he will teach you all you need to know about belaying, rope work and the techniques you need to enjoy climbing to the fullest.
