SOEC's Belmont Centre is located right in the valley of Strathmore in 100 acres of outstanding beauty. The most northern of SOEC's Centres, it is a great place for school groups to come and have a great time outdoors. With a great number of things to do, Belmont is perfectly located for up to 150+ people come and enjoy the great outdoors.  Some of the activities that you can do while staying at Belmont are;

SOEC has been providing people access to the great outdoors for over 65 years, and is one of the largest providers of residential outdoor learning in Scotland. All the programmes on offer are built to be challenging and exciting to the people that do them and to incorporate learning outcomes.

Belmont welcomes groups of 10 or more. Although predominantly used by schools it welcomes any group of 10 persons or more.  It can also host events or conferences. Please enquire for details.

The Scottish Outdoor Education Centre Belmont is a great place for you to start learning how to canoe.It doesnt matter if you are starting as a beginner, or if you have some experience in canoeing, there will be a course available for you. Some of the courses available are:

• Learn to Canoe (UKCC 1 Star)
• Canoe Improver (UKCC 2 Star)
• Canoe Intermediate (UKCC 3 Star)
• Canoe Safety
• Introduction to White Water
• Family Course.

Canoe and kayak expeditions are also available to those who are looking for more of a challenge, led by the tutors themselves. Courses are put on regularly throughout the year, and Belmont is a Scottish Canoe Association approved centre.

High ropes are a great tool for promoting communication in a group, as well as building their confidence and giving them team building skills. The skilled sport of Archery is a fun sport that doesn´t require that much skill at the start, so everyone can have a go. Beginners can enjoy getting to learn a new skill, and people with experience can try and better their skills that they already have.
