We provide a variety of paddlesport options and your choice of kayak will depend on your intended use of it, be it:

• Touring
• Surfing
• Freestlye
• White water
• Fishing

A closed deck kayak is used for paddling in moving waters and the spray deck prevents water from entering the kayak, as it sits quite low in the water.

Touring kayaks tend to be larger and more stable; they are ideal for family kayaking experiences.

Our qualified instructors will introduce you to the basic paddling manoeuvres before taking to the water for the first time.

Kitesurfing is a fusion of many different sports and is steadily increasing in popularity.

Our coastline is excellent for kitesurfing practice and we follow the syllabus proposed by the British Kite Surfing Association (BKSA). You must obtain a minimum competence of skills on land before taking to the water.

These skills will be taught by our qualified instructors; once you have a basic kitesurfing proficiency on land, the real adventure will begin!

We are based on the Devonshire Coastline in Ilfracombe. We describe surfing as all-encompassing and very addictive... it’s more a way of life than a sport!

Surfing seems quite simple but there are many variations that include body boarding or using long and short boards. What´s more, you will also need a leash to keep you attached to your board when you ´wipe-out´!

Wakeboarding involves being towed behind a speedboat on a single board, similar to a snowboard, and gliding across the water smoothly.

Our lessons cater for all ages and abilities and we provide all the equipment, including:

As you progress we will introduce performance tricks such as spins, grabs and flips! There are many tricks to learn, which will take a lot of practice.

Welcome to Devon Outdoors Hiking in Ilfracombe.

Walking seems fairly simple but it is a great way to get active and keep fit, whilst exploring the beautiful Devonshire scenery. What´s more, it requires very little costs as generally no specialist equipment is necessary.

The more extreme the conditions, the more adventurous the hike! To avoid being caught short, we recommend that you bring:

• Walking boots
• Walking socks
• Layered clothing
• Waterproof jacket

We will provide the routes, including maps and compasses.

Rock climbing is a fantastic way to keep fit and there are many different levels of technicality to complete.

Climbing outdoors involves a great deal of specialist safety equipment and learning to properly place this equipment is half of the challenge. We are a recognised climbing centre and your safety will be placed in the hands of qualified and experienced instructors.

As a beginner you will follow a lead climber; the lead climber is responsible for placing wedges, nuts and other forms of protection into the cracks in the rock.

Practice mountain biking with Devon Outdoors Mountain Biking. It can open up a whole new world of adventure and exploration, from discovering new routes to trying to get your best time on your favourite trail.

For experienced cyclists, we have cross country riding that includes forest trails and fire roads. The choice of route will all depend on your level of skill and overall fitness.

We cater for individual and group bookings and the focus is on fun!
