Welcome to Apex Training! We are an outdoor activity training centre that provides training for mountaineering and caving from the BCA and MTLE. Whether you are just starting out or looking to perfect or polish up your skills either above ground or below, we are something for you!

Our staff are highly experienced and qualified and have been providing training since the 1990s. We are renowned for our training and are one of the largest training venues of in our sector.

Welcome to Apex Training Climbing! We offer the Single Pitch Award (SPA), the only kind of its kind, for those who wish to be certified to lead and supervise groups on rock, crags, walls and quarries. This award is also recognized by AALA which enables you to praticse in the UK and Ireland.

We have been running since the 1990s and we offer some of the best instructors in the business. In order to take this course, you yourself must be an experienced climber (with at least 12 months climbing under your belt) registered with MLTE Single Pitch Award Scheme.

Our course will teach you the following techniques:
•    Personal climbing skills
•    Equipment
•    Anchors
•    Belaying
•    Abseiling

Welcome to Apex Training Caving, where you can obtain your caving certification. This course is offer, The Local Cave and Mine Leader Assessment (LCMLA) scheme, is the official course of the British Caving Association.

This award was designed in order to provide the opportunity for individuals to become competent and certified caving leaders. There are two levels and 6 modules for cavers to become fully certified.

In order to participate, cavers must be over the age of 18, be registered with BCA and have done a minimum of 12 caving sessions. Our leaders are all experienced and qualified and excellent teachers!

Welcome to Apex Training Hiking, where we provide outstanding training for those looking to become mountain leaders themselves. We run the Mountain Leader (ML) Award, an award that provides technically training for those who want to be able to lead groups throughout the scenic hills and mountains of the UK.

This course deals with subjects such as dealing with difficult terrain and adverse weather conditions, leading a group, weather, equipment, safety and improvised rope work. This award scheme consists of two award levels which are in total 16 hours each.
