Rafting with 1610 Outdoor Adventure Rafting on the lake at Hestercombe Gardens is a completely unique experienced that brings you the fun of getting out on the water combined with the unique thrill of building your raft yourself and seeing if it will stay afloat with you on it!

You read right, in our activities, running from May through till September, we supply you with all of the raw materials you will need to construct your own raft. Under supervision, you and your team will need to work together to first plan the best way to construct the craft, and then using the planks of wood, water tight barrels and lengths of rope you will construct your raft.

This activity is as much a problem solving and team work activity as it is an exciting water based adventure that everyone will enjoy. Once you have finished constructing your vessel we will get you out on the water, paddling round a course or racing against the other teams so see who reaches the finish line first, or at all!

From our base we have a great range of hiking experiences around our beautiful estate and Hestercombe Gardens and the surrounding region including the Quintock Hills. Our experienced instructors will tailor an experience to suit you and your group's level of ability and experience so that you all have a great day trekking through nature taking in the local sights, wildlife and flora. We also offer activities in a range of other different types of walking and hiking such as Nordic walking.

If you and your children (aged 5 years and over) like to challenge yourselves in a fun way, you have the possibility to enjoy an abseiling session on our mobile climbing wall that can be taken to your house!
