Tips if you are going to do Mountain Biking in United Kingdom

Mountain biking has remained a popular outdoor recreational sport for several decades. There’s nothing like the adrenaline rush you’ll feel when biking down a slope, watching the trail unwind in front of you and trying to anticipate your next move. Not only is the thrill unmatched, but it is an incredible way to get fit and improve your cardiovascular fitness in an enjoyable way – either solo or with your loved ones. Here are our top 5 reasons why you should go mountain biking in the UK!
1. Escape from everyday life
When you're mountain biking, you have no time to think about that dispute you had with your mum, the new assignment your employer imposed at the last minute, or what you're going to do about that weed bed in the back garden. Biking is a great way to get away from it all. When you're riding your bike, all you can think about is the bike and the journey. Mountain biking will also take you to some of the most beautiful places across the UK, with its hilly landscape providing the perfect biking playground!
2. It keeps you fit!
You'll undoubtedly notice a cyclist's well-defined calf muscles, but you may not realize that mountain biking engages all of your muscles. Cycling, of course, strengthens your legs, thighs, and calves while also assisting in the development of a good tight butt. Your abdominal and core muscles are strengthened as a result of the balance required to stay upright. Climbing and turning improves your upper body as well. Even better, mountain biking also provides a good workout without the need for an expensive gym subscription or a personal trainer.
3. Reduce stress
Mountain biking's strenuous demands cause your body to release natural endorphins, which are the body's way of feeling good and gaining energy. Exercise also increases serotonin, a brain molecule that aids in the prevention of depression and anxiety. Riding a difficult single-track can become a type of movement meditation, allowing you to relax and weather life's stresses by diverting your attention away from unpleasant thoughts that can contribute to anxiety and despair. Developing new skills and improving your mountain bike abilities can also boost your self-esteem and confidence.
4. Improve balance and coordination
Mountain riding, unlike trudging on a treadmill or stair stepper, is a dynamic activity that challenges the rider to respond to changing terrain, pitch, and height on a regular basis. On a mountain bike, staying steady and secure not only saves you from falling, but it also improves neural connections and reinforces muscle memory. The brain, senses, and muscles must all work together to maintain balance and coordination. What’s more, keeping these systems active as we age prevents aging-related impairment and lowers the chance of damage from falls.
5. Get lost in nature
What better way to enjoy the great outdoors than to eat some dirt and get up close and personal with thorny shrubs along the trail? But, more than any other activity, mountain biking allows you to rapidly escape off the beaten route and appreciate the tranquillity and magnificence of nature. Researchers have discovered that spending time in nature (what they call "forest bathing") helps people relax and reduce stress. A crowded city atmosphere has the exact opposite impact, increasing the brain's fear and anxiety centres. Spending more time on your bike may lead to you becoming more environmentally conscious and kind.
When should I go mountain biking in the UK?
As with most outdoor activities, we would suggest that you go mountain biking when the weather is warm, dry and sunny for the best experience. Ideally, you also want to avoid going around rainy days, as this will wet the terrain and make it harder for you to manoeuvre – but if you’re more experience and looking for even more of a thrill then bike away! For those of you less confident in your abilities, we would suggest going in the mid to late spring, summer and autumn for an incredible way to de-stress!
