York Canoe Club

We believe we are one of the best, and liveliest, clubs in the country! We organise many club trips throughout the year. We go all over England, Wales and Scotland, and some of our favourite locations include the Upper Tees, the Kent, the Lune and the Wharfe. We also organise trips abroad, and previous locations include Austria, Switzerland, France, Canada, the USA, Turkey, Uganda, Zambia and Chile.

We are a friendly and welcoming club, and offer a New Starters Program, so you can develop your skills within our club. Our main focus at the club is white water kayaking (although we have sometimes dabbled in sea kayaking), so this is what the program prepares you for. If you have no experience in white water kayaking, or very little experience, or under 18, then you will enter the club this way, unless you have a BCU 3* white water.
