Tips if you are going to do Jet Skiing in United Kingdom
Scott Iman Jones posted on 07 June 2021 10:28 | Reading time: 4 Minutes
When you think about beach holidays and riding the waves, one of the first things that comes to mind are jet skis – and with good reason. If you’re looking for a fun-filled way to pass the time on your next beach excursion, we highly recommend hiring a couple jet skis and touring the nearby islands or racing your friends round a course at sea – all the while looking insanely cool too.
1. High-octane, adrenaline-fuelled fun
We’ve all seen films like Baywatch with the high-speed jet ski chases and thought “I’d love to give that a go”. Well, we can assure you that the real experience is not far off! Hiring jet skis is easy and are readily available, and once you’ve got to grips with the initial controls and motor functions you’ll be able to go off on your own and pound those waves. The feeling of the sea breeze in your hair, speeding over waves and watching the beach from the distance is unparalleled; and the experience is one you’ll never forget.

2. Improve your balance and coordination
Riding a jet ski seems hard, but that’s only initially, once you get used to it you’ll be traversing the waves like a pro in no time! However, in order to get to that stage, you’ll need to get to grips with the balance and coordination required – which you can pick up pretty quickly. Having to crouch, steer and keep hold of a moving jet ski requires some skill, especially if you’re constantly adjusting the speed to match the waves. But we promise you the longer you do it for, the more you’ll improve your balance and coordination, and the more you’re going to be loving every minute of it!

3. It’s a great workout
Without realising it, whilst you’re out jet skiing across the waves, you’re actually getting in quite an aggressive workout. Your core is constantly engaged through having to balance and coordinate your arms and legs, your upper back and shoulders are working through having to support your arms, and your arms are obviously getting trained through holding onto a moving jet ski. So just think, you’re training your muscles whilst having an amazing time – what could be better than that!

4. Fun with friends or solo
Whether you prefer solo travel or going on holiday with your friends, jet skiing is always a solid choice for you to have an amazing time. It’s easy to hire one for the day so you can tour around the local coastlines or enjoy a relaxing ride across a lake. If you’re out and about with your friends you can book a group tour or even get competitive and race each other around an obstacle course – really the possibilities are endless! What’s better is that whether you’re an adult or a teen, jet skis are for everyone, so you can get all your nearest and dearest in on the fun!

5. Cardiovascular exercise
It’s a little-known fact that 30 minutes of jet skiing burns approximately 250 calories – meaning it’s a great high impact cardiovascular activity that doesn’t feel like you’re working whatsoever! Having to utilise your entire body to keep control of the jet ski and moving with the motion of the ocean greatly increases blood flow, bringing more oxygen and nutrients to your muscle tissue; it’s just a great way to improve your health overall.

When should I go jet skiing?
If you want to comfortably have a great time jet skiing – enjoying an adrenaline kick in a relaxed environment – we would suggest booking a tour or hiring on during the summer/autumn months. This is due to the relatively low wind speeds and warm weather, meaning reasonable waves and a refreshing dip in the water. However, it doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the experience in the winter either, you just have to be wary of the increase in tidal activity and colder temperatures. But all in all, jet skiing is great for any time of the year!
