We are Little Skipwith Carriage Rides, a tour company offering old-fashioned, horse-drawn rides through the countryside in comfortable carriages of traditional design. There really is nothing like travelling by carriage - the progress is sedate, the rhythm is relaxing and horses make great company!

We are based in the village of Skipwith, which is set in the Yorkshire countryside between York and Selby. The village boasts charming historic buildings, a private estate and the quaint parish church of St Helen’s. We ride out onto the private tracks of the estate, far from the noise of the roads and traffic. Wild flowers adorn the hedgerows and meadows, whilst deer are sometimes seen gambolling through the woods.

Our rides last around an hour, but you can take your time with us if you choose a combined experience that includes food. We offer everything from tasty treats to full meals and bottles of bubbly to suit everyone’s preferences. Why not enjoy a cream tea on the hoof? Or a full afternoon tea at our private tear room?

Driver Gordon and one of our horses - Ben, Arthur, Snowy, Hercules, Otto, TJ or Jimmy - will give you a warm welcome and help to make this an experience to remember.
