Description of Edinburgh University's Exmoor Pony Trekking Society

Welcome to the Edinburgh University's Exmoor Pony Trekking Society! We offer trekking in the beautiful Ochil hills in the summer and in the Pentlands in the winter, on our native Exmoor ponies.  

We cater for all abilities and are a non- profit organisation dedicated to preserving this wonderful, endangered breed. Our ponies have now been relocated to Glendevon, near Dollar in Clackmannanshire just north of Edinburgh where they enjoy their new scenic home.

Our Tracks:

  • Full day Trek: 3-4 hours.
  • Half day Trek: 2-3 hours.
  • Evening Trek: 1-2 hours.
  • Pootles: For children.
  • Morning Trek for Advanced and Intermediate
  • Afternoon Trek for Beginner and Novice
  • Reservoir Treks

* Children should be over 4-years old. *

We offer various different treks where everyone is welcome, or, if you are interested in riding more with us look into our Summer Membership. We also offer training for the Trek Leader (TL) Course!
