Take a journey back in time, beneath the waves and halfway across the globe.
All of it in the capital city of Northern Ireland. Titanic Belfast is the country’s leading tourist attraction, telling the story of Belfast’s shipbuilding industry and its most famous creation, the RMS Titanic, through exhibitions, installations and the very docks where the ocean liners were made.
The venue is the focal point of the modern Titanic Quarter, an area of former docklands that has undergone a regeneration project in the years since 2001. The main building is a sight in itself - a striking structure whose points and peaks recall the huge prow of the Titanic. Indeed, it stands 38 metres high, the same height as the famous ship’s hull. The outside is clad in 3,000 shards of bright aluminium which catch the light from all angles.
This building hosts 10 exhibition rooms arranged over 6 storeys. They include Boomtown Belfast, The Launch and The Sinking, taking you through the Titanic story as you move through the immersive environment. Also on site is the slipway where the Titanic took to the water and the SS Nomadic, the only surviving ship built by The White Star Line.
Welcoming over 800,000 visitors a year, and having won over 15 awards since opening in 2012, Titanic Belfast is the obvious first-choice destination for anyone who wants to get to know this fascinating city. There are plenty of places to eat and drink, as well as shop, so make your visit into a full day out.
