Welcome to Surrey Hills Gliding Club!
We also run the South London Gliding Centre, and at any one time we have up to 100 members. We welcome all to our friendly club, and have members ranging from 14 years of age, to over 70. We are based in Kenley, conveniently located inside the M25, especially if you live or work in and south of London.
We operate on weekdays all year round, weather permitting. However, with our tarmac runways, we can often operate when many other airfields are waterlogged. We offer trial lessons, so you can experience the feeling of gliding for the first time, as well as taster courses, and week-long intensive courses. We tailor single flights, two flights and four flights trial lesson. You can also join the gliding club and come along once or twice a week to learn and work towards achieving solo status. Our facilities include a clubhouse with a toilet and hot drink facilities.
The general requirements for a lesson are that everyone should be thirteen years old and up. Also, height and weight conditions are applicable and we advise everyone to check those details before booking with us.
