Welcome to Staffordshire Gliding Club!
We are based at Seighford Airfield in Staffordshire and have been operating since 1962. We have a wealth of experience in gliding and now have over 120 members.
To keep costs down we don´t have any employees, and we are a self-help club without any employees. We find this also encourages a friendly atmosphere as we all have to help each other. Our club fleet includes a single seat Astir and three two-seat training aircraft (2 x Grob Twin II), and there are also many privately owned gliders based here.
We also offer gift vouchers that consist of a short course. The session is about an instructional flight in a two-seater awesome glider with dual controls, meaning that you can take control for a short time! We have a long list of prices and packages.
We fly every weekend and bank holiday throughout the year, and from May to August we also fly on Fridays. Unfortunately, as gliding is a sport that depends on the weather, it is not possible to book flights in advance. We also organise short courses and expeditions to other sites.
