Rattlesden Gliding Club

Welcome to Rattlesden Gliding Club! 

We are based in Suffolk and are close by to Bury St Edmunds, on the edge of the RAF Wattisham MATZ.

Our club is affiliated with the British Gliding Association and has over 90 flying members. We welcoming visiting pilots as well as the general public who want to come along for a trial flight and experience this exhilarating feeling for the first time.

• Gliding Experience: The unique option to enjoy the beautiful sights that Suffolk has to offer! It´s a flight of up to 30 minutes, accompanied by a certified instructor. 
• Learn to Glide: The first steps who want to start gliding. 
• Evening flying: Enjoy a beautiful summer evening with a flight with loved ones. 
• Gliding Course: Three months of extensive gliding courses.
• Trial Lesson: The starting point of the learning this air sport or for club members. 

We have a fleet of club-owned gliders, as well as a number of club members who have their own gliders. Our club-owned fleet includes three two-seater and two single-seater gliders, a winch and a tug. Most people can learn to glide. There is a minimum age of 14, or 16 to fly solo, but there are very few physical constraints.
