Welcome to the Portsmouth Naval Gliding Club!
We are based in Lee on Solent Airfield, and open every weekend, on Bank Holidays, and Wednesday afternoons. Our location by the sea gives us some fantastic views, and we have a safe, flat field site and great facilities. Our team are BGA certified instructors who provide excellent teaching in a safe and enjoyable environment. We welcome everyone, from beginners through to experienced gliders.
Why not come and join us for a Trial Lesson, to experience the exhilarating feeling of gliding for the first time. We also hold three one week gliding courses throughout the year, which although are mainly aimed at RN Officer cadets, if spaces are available then we do try and accommodate club members.
We have a growing fleet of private gliders, and we as a centre own a number of two-seater training gliders, as well as a range of single seaters.
Although we have some restrictions, such as height (you need to be under 6´4) and weight (under 16 stone 4 Lbs or 103 Kg).
