Welcome to Lakes Gliding Club!
We are based in Cumbria in the Lake District, an area of great beauty which will give you incredible views when gliding.
We are a friendly club with a wide range of members, from teenagers to octogenarians, and with varying levels of experience. We are a non-profit making organisation and are run by the members, for the members. We welcome new members, including complete beginners who would like to learn or just join us for a trial lesson to experience the exhilarating feeling of gliding.
We offer a Starter Package, to begin with, at this new thrilling hobby or career! This package consists of six training flights that go up to 2,000 feet. But, if your desire to go higher, we can make it a reality going up to 3,000 feet. We also tailor for the youngster, for those under eighteen years old. If you really love this introductory training, this is your chance to continue flying with us until becoming a professional!
Our airfield has three hard runways, all over 1000m long, which allow us to fly all year round, unlike many other clubs.
