Tips if you are going to do escapes in United Kingdom

When the stresses of work starting catching up to us and we feel like we’re going to burn out, it might be tempting to cash in all that holiday leave in one go – but we’re here to tell you otherwise. Whilst you may think that the ultimate relaxation comes with going as far away as possible for as long as possible, it might actually surprise you just how relaxing going on a weekend escape can be! These mini-breaks work wonders as you won’t come across the issues of planning longer trips, and your happiness is easier managed across the whole year – but if that’s not enough to convince you, we’ve come up with our top 5 reasons why you should go on an escape holiday in the UK!
1. Stress-free planning
The logistics of planning a long holiday can turn people off of going on one, and sometimes when going away for a long time it can take people a few days to actually get into relaxation mode – there’s the stresses of not being able to access emails in a remote location, and then the anxiety of returning to a pile of work when you get back. However, when you go on an escape none of that is present. Planning a short weekend escape is easy as 1-2-3, and you won’t be expecting an inbox full of emails on your return – meaning a lot less stress!

2. Benefits your mental health
Whilst taking a long trip might feel great whilst you do it, the happiness boost is short-lived. Research actually suggests that 8 days is the ideal amount of time for a holiday, with happiness peaking after this period of time away, however, holidays of this length also come with their drawbacks; you’ll use up a huge chunk of your paid time off, the expenses of trips of this calibre surmount to a lot, and not to mention the mountainous pile of work upon your return. This places a lot of stress on the mind and you might not ever actually get to relax… however, with a weekend escape all of this goes out the window. Enjoy not having to worry about spending a lot of money, and really enjoy not constantly worrying about emails or an ineffable amount of work when you get back. You’ll be able to truly relax.

3. Really disconnect
Whether we like to admit it or not, most of us are addicted to our electronic devices. It doesn’t matter if it’s work emails, social media or just playing videogames, the average person spends almost a quarter of the day on their phone in total. And whilst this has a negative effect on our general wellbeing, for most people it is actually necessary to get through day-to-day life. That’s why when you take a long holiday it’s almost impossible to completely disconnect, as being without a device for this amount of time would be detrimental to work and social life. Whilst it’s hard for people to disconnect for 8-10 days, disconnecting for 3 is much more accomplishable – which is why taking a weekend escape is setting yourself up for success.

4. Be happier for longer
It may seem that a longer holiday means a longer period of happiness, but when you look at the grand scheme of things this is hardly the case. Taking your entire 2 weeks’ worth of holidays off in one go means you will be working for 50 weeks of the year non-stop – that hardly sounds like a long period of happiness. On the other hand, splitting up your trips into a handful of weekend escapes is a great way to maintain anticipation all throughout the year, enjoying bursts of excitement and relaxation, meaning you’ll be happier for longer!

5. Enjoy multiple trips throughout the year!
Whilst also being happier for longer, when you book weekend escapes you’ll be able to enjoy multiple trips throughout the year! Forget about booking flights months in advance, long stays in the airport and frantically getting the logistics together at the last minute – rather, escape from the daily grind on a more frequent basis and experience true escapes without checking emails, scrolling through social media or the need to read/watch the news. Being able to truly escape multiple times throughout the year is a lot more beneficial to you than you realise! So go ahead and change it up!

When should I go?
The perfect part about weekend escapes is that you can go any time throughout the year – that’s actually the point of them! It’s a lot easier to plan a trip when it’s closer to the time and you’ll know (almost) exactly what the weather will be like; meaning you’ll be able to plan for any event. So what are you waiting for? Book now!
