But the world’s first and only consulting detective - whether on page, stage or screen - still remained tantalisingly out of reach.

Until the inception of Sherlock: The Official Live Game! The very team behind the show’s success has joined forces with escape room specialists to offer you the chance to step into the role of Sherlock Holmes and solve a mystery as obscure as the London fog.

Located in the West 12 shopping centre, Shepherd’s Bush - not far from the eternal 221b Baker Street address - and “hidden” behind the façade of “Doyle’s Opticians” - this experience is immersive from the beginning. Once you’re inside, you’ll feel like you're right there on the set of the BBC series, surrounded by the furniture, the props and even the wallpaper that you’ve seen on screen.

The challenge is as follows: Mycroft Holmes is on the lookout for bright minds to join the British intelligence services and you're a candidate. But something’s afoot! Guided by the voices of the actors themselves and video installations, you’ll follow clues, unlock secrets and travel through numerous sets to complete the test and brung the plot to its climax!

The experience lasts a full hour and is perfect for fans of the show who are over the age of 10. As with other escape rooms, it’s also become a popular destination for corporate groups on team building outings with a twist, and stag and hen parties. Once you’ve finished, you can join us for a drink in the Mind Palace Bar to discuss the case and, just like Holme’s famous chronicler Doctor Watson, write about it on your blog.
