Shaw Diving offers SCUBA Diving Courses in Blackburn (Lancashire, UK), but we train divers from all across Lancashire!

We offer one to one tuition to any student at no additional cost.

On this website, you will find all the information about diving with us that you could need. We deliver all PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) courses from PADI Open Water right through to PADI Assistant Instructor. We also offer a wide range of PADI Speciality courses.

Our professional team have a wealth of experience and knowledge from diving around the world, and have been diving for over 14 years!

Learning to Dive

How do I know if I will like diving?
If you would like to learn to dive but you are not sure it's the sport for you, we can start you on your way. You can try a dive in the safety of a local swimming pool. If you find the experience to your liking then you can take your first course which is the PADI Open Water Course.

Do I need to buy lots of equipment?
No, you will not need to buy any equipment to learn to dive. Our small and friendly team have dive kit available for use, included in the course price, free of charge. Once you are ready for pleasure diving after becoming qualified you may want to buy your own equipment. Many people learning to dive start to buy their own equipment over several months.

Where will I learn to dive?
You will initially train and develop your practical skills in a local swimming pool. When you are ready to undertake open water dives we often use the Eccleston Delph or Capernwray dive sites.
Theory studies can be completed in the comfort of your own home.

How long will it take me to learn?
It can take as little as 4 days but usually takes around 4 to 5 weeks, training at weekends or evenings. With Shaw Diving you learn to dive at a pace that you find comfortable and where the skills you learn become second nature.

Who will train me?
Shaw Diving only employ qualified instructors who will train you to the level which you require.
