Description of Raft Building in the Lake District (16yrs+) 3h
Imagine you and your friends having fun outdoors in nature, surrounded by the serene Derwent water. We make this a reality and task you with building a raft to navigate your way down the stream in a fun race against another team.
Our raft-building session in the Lake District is a fun three-hour outdoor activity that requires creativity, teamwork, and a bit of ingenuity.
You'll need equipment like barrels, ropes, and wooden planks to start. The goal is to battle it out in various challenges using the points you win and use these materials to construct a raft that is sturdy enough to carry all team members safely down the river.
But here's the catch: you have to build the raft without any instructions or blueprints, just your wits and the help of your teammates. For the whole day, our experienced instructors will be at hand to put you through your paces with challenges, ensure the session runs smoothly and step in where necessary to ensure safety and provide expert instruction. This independence means you'll have to communicate effectively to devise a plan and work together to execute it.
Building the raft is only half the fun; the other half is navigating it down the river. The challenges of the river can vary depending on the weather and the current, which can make the ride bumpy and exciting. You'll have to work together as a team to steer the raft, avoid obstacles, and keep everyone safe while engaging in a fun race against the other team.
This raft-building experience is the perfect day out for a group event, mostly corporate events, birthday parties, stag and hen parties. This is such a unique way to have fun and take on a challenge with your friends and family.
We will meet at the lake car park, a 15-minute drive from our base in Keswick. Our experienced instructors will brief you for the session and provide the necessary equipment, including a wetsuit, crags and buoyancy aid.
Come with us to spend time outdoors, enjoy nature, and bond with your friends or colleagues.
