Description of RYA SRC / VHF Radio Operators Course Wallasey

Safewater Training Sea School Ltd offers the one-day RYA SRC / VHF Radio Operators course which teaches the basics of VHF radio operation, the correct frequencies (channels) to be used and distress, emergency and medical assistance procedures. It is the minimum qualification required by law to control the operation of VHF and VHF Digital Selective Calling (DSC) equipment on any British flagged vessel voluntarily fitted with a radio. This includes both fixed and hand held equipment using international channels.

What does the activity include

We use the latest Icom M601live VHF radio voice training equipment giving you the benefit of "hands-on" tuition.
At the end of the course students are prepared to take a short exam inorder for a UK Certificate of Competance and Authority to Operate to be issued. There is an exam payable directly to the RYA on the day.

The RYA SRC / VHF Radio Operators Course is a 1 day course.
