Do you like the idea of paddleboarding in a nature reserve?

The Montrose Basin is a place unlike anywhere else. The River Esk meets the North Sea here in a circular pool that’s an ideal habitat for sea birds such as oyster catchers, redshanks and swans, and plenty of invertebrates besides.

We take groups out onto the water at high tide when the basin is full. The sheltered waters don’t pose problems for paddleboarding even if you’re a beginner. This price is the price for adults, but youngsters can come too, see our child’s price.

This safari lasts two hours. You’ll meet your guide at the water's edge and have a quick introductory briefing to the equipment. This can be shorter if it’s not your first time. You’ll be given a SUP, a paddle and a life jacket, then set off.

You need to wear a swimsuit and pair of shoes to use during the activity - so they’ll get wet! Use your own wetsuit if you have one and rent one from us for a small fee if you don’t.
