Description of Sea Kayaking Trip (18+) at Howth 3h+Snack
Sometimes to see the best sights you have to venture in ways you never have before; with kayaking, you can explore locations from a different perspective and experience the thrills of developing a new skill.
We offer an activity full of excitement for participants of any skill level but at a minimum of 18 years old and have the ability to swim to come with us on a journey along the Irish Coastline from the beach in Howth, which is just under a 1-hour travel Northeast of Dublin, then to where our journey will end at Baily Lighthouse at Howth Head.
This kayaking adventure will begin with some briefing from our experienced instructors to ensure you are fully equipped and ready to start. Along the way, you may spot some of the local seabirds or even a seal if you are lucky. We will also get to see a Martello Tower, a landmark that is one of the many that are located throughout Ireland.
The pinnacle of this experience is reaching a point where we have a picturesque view of the Baily Lighthouse, which dates back to the time of the Vikings, but the current version was built in 1814 and overlooks Dublin Bay.
We will take a break at a small beach area during the 3-hour trip, offering free water, tea, coffee and snacks.
You should bring some form of swimming costume under the wetsuit, sportswear and a pair of trainers, a spare change of clothes, a towel and water.
In terms of directions to find this location, when driving, head to the Sutton Cross Junction and once there, follow Greenfield Road for 800 metres; then, you will take a right and go along the coast until you reach the end of the Strand Road, you will pass the Sailing Club, and we will be waiting 500 metres away. For those taking the bus journey, you will need to get the 31A bus from lower Abby Street and get off at the N688 stop at Shieldmartin Road, where you will be able to find us.
