Description of Sea Kayaking(18+) at Skerries Islands 3h+Snack
The Skerries islands offer so much; it begs the question, are there many better ways to experience Kayaking? We provide an entertaining tour of the five islands that surround the coastal town of Skerries.
Skerries, a pleasant and safe town that once was a fishing port and is now ideal for visitors from Dublin and surrounding areas, is located in the North of County Dublin, in Fingal. From the beach close to the Martello Tower, where we will begin our kayaking experience, our passionate instructors will put you at ease with a safety briefing, instructions and provision of premium equipment such as a wetsuit, life jacket, kayak and more. It would be best if you arrived with a change of clothes, a towel, water, sportswear for ease of use, trainers and swimwear to wear underneath your wetsuit.
The five islands that lie off the coast of Skerries are Shenick Island, St Patrick’s, Colt Island, Rockabill, and Lambay Island. Our first stop is Shenick Island, and from there, you will journey across the way using the kayak skills you develop along the way to all the neighbouring islands. Kayaking makes this a unique way to experience several historic islands that tell different tales of invasions of years gone by, and you will create memories for a lifetime.
This sea kayaking trip will take 3 hours, so you can take a break where we will provide refreshments and snacks.
To find our starting location at the beach beside the Martello Tower from the city, drive along the M1 motorway, follow it to exit 4 to the Skerries, and keep going until you reach the car park at the end of Skerries harbour road. If you are coming by train, take the train from Connolly Station heading for Drogheda Station but get off at Skerries Rail Halt station. Head down station road until you reach the junction with Dublin road; take a left and bear left leading to Skerries harbour road, where you will be able to find us at the meeting point.
We offer a session suitable for beginners over 18 who know how to swim and are eager to learn and enjoy the ride, so if that describes you, join us now!
