3 Day Sea Kayaking Trip to The Isles of Scilly

If you love the outdoors, you will feel at home kayaking with us around breathtaking islands off the coast of Cornwall.

With idyllic island views and clear waters for miles, you would have to travel across the world to find an island experience that comes close to the Isles of Scilly. The lunches on stunning sandy beaches and trips down memory lane to times long ago with historical sights to see which make this an unmissable trip. If you are lucky enough, you may catch the gaze of an intrigued seal or some beautiful puffins.

This adventure is more suited to those with at least 3 days of sea kayaking experience. Under 18 year olds can join the trip if over 14yrs anthey are accompanied by their parent or legal guardian.

While the trip can be relaxing and fun, it is also physically demanding, so you must be physically able to partake in 4 days of kayaking and stay in a kayaking position for around an hour without a break.

An unforgettable experience with new unique locations to discover is guaranteed, but we also strive to make this experience more than a fun trip; we aim to improve your skills and passion for sea kayaking. Our experienced guides are on hand to provide expert supervision and professional tuition to those that want it.  Or you are welcome to just enjoy being guided with their local knowledge and can benefit from their unique insights.

We do everything we can to make this incredible experience as value for money as possible, so five nights of camping at St Martin's Campsite is included, and this is where we will rest and take off from every day on our travels.  This gives you a spare day to explore the islands on foot.  Visit the famous Abbey Gardens on Tresco,  taste the local wine at St Martin's vineyard, or snorkel with seals.

In addition to the safety briefings, guidance and expert teaching our instructors provide, they will also supply you with all the equipment, including the paddle and kayak with spray deck, but also a cag, buoyancy aid, helmet and long-john wetsuit.

We cover a lot but, unfortunately, not everything, so there are other costs to pay for and book separately, including the ferry, inter-island ferry, camping equipment, and food etc.

Our priority is to ensure everyone has the best experience with us, so we tailor the session to ensure this based on your abilities and also weather conditions so we craft our kayaking routes based on this.

Make sure to pack some food, a reusable water bottle, camping equipment and items from a suggest kit list that we will provide.

Calling all explorers and adventure seekers! We have 5 days of sea kayaking exploration in the Isles of Scilly for you to enjoy.

Have you ever wanted the full sea kayaking experience? Well, this is it, so prepare to live light, carrying everything you have and explore the vistas and wildlife that these amazing islands have to offer.

What sounds better than touring beautiful locations while guided by one of our experienced instructors. The trip cost includes our qualified instructor and kayaking kit, including the closed-cockpit kayak, spray deck, paddle, cag, helmet buoyancy aid and long john wetsuit), plus campsite fees for 5 nights.

Each morning begins with the beautiful sound of the birds before we pack up and set off again, hoping we will spot some puffins, seals and razorbills. After spending a day paddling with newly made friends, you can reminisce on the events with a well-earned drink in the island pub before taking a walk up the hill to watch the stunning sunset. Afterwards, you can head back to your tent for a deserved sleep, ready for the next day.

On the first day of the trip you will reach St Mary's around midday before catching the inter-island ferry to St Martin's, where you will receive a warm greeting. Once you feel settled and camp is set up, we will be ready to embark on a relaxing afternoon paddle to help you get to grips with the basics and our equipment. Then we will end the day with some food at the pub.

​We tailor the entire experience so the exact kayaking route for the week will be weather-dependent and expert decisions will be made daily. We will be setting up at the island campsites of St Martins, Bryher and St Agnes, the perfect base to explore both nearby islands.

Due to harsher weather conditions, this trip can be pretty challenging, so this trip is not suitable for complete beginners, but they are more than welcome to join our St Martin's trips.

​To take part, you must meet these conditions:

• Confidently paddle a kayak at sea
• Physically able to paddle 5 days straight for around 4-6 hours each day
• Travel light and be happy to sleep in a small tent
• Carry your camping kit up to 500m away from the beach to the campsite
• Paddling experience in either lumpy seas, windy conditions or moderate waters

Maybe you don't have experience doing all of these things, but if you are still interested and have experience doing other water sports, then you may have the confidence and sea awareness necessary to join us, so contact us to find out if you are eligible.

There are some costs we don't cover:

• The Ferry to the island and back
• Inter-island ferry from St Mary's to St Martin's
• Food and camping equipment needed for the week
