Taking a trial lesson is the first step on the journey to becoming a helicopter pilot - or a fantastic one-off experience that you won’t forget in a hurry! The lessons are led by qualified pilots, both competent at the controls and charming with our customers (anyone over the age of 14 years old).

Here at Halfpenny Green Airport, Wolverhampton, we have a dual-control Robinson R22 helicopter which is perfect for first-time flyers. In fact, it’s the training helicopter of choice around the world.

We offer one-hour experiences that include 30 minutes in the aircraft. We’ll start with “ground school” then get into the helicopter to learn about the controls and techniques in a more hands-on way. Next, the pilot will take you into the air and allow you to fly the helicopter in a controlled way

The R22 is a two-seater model, so you’ll have the full attention of the pilot throughout. They can advise you about the next steps in helicopter training once you're back at the airfield.
