Deal overview
Description of Climb the O2 Arena in Greenwich, 1.5h
See a wonder of modern London from a totally new perspective.
By climbing up it! We’re talking about the O2 Arena, formerly the Millennium Dome, an architectural icon erected to herald the beginning of the third millennium. It’s become an instantly recognisable part of the fabric of London and a key location on its cultural scene, hosting high profile sports events, concerts and exhibitions.
Despite its significance, climbing the dome isn’t anything like climbing a significant mountain like Mount Everest. It’s an accessible and safe experience, while still giving you an adrenaline rush, not to mention some of the best views of the skyline of London.
You can book an ascent of the O2 as an individual, couple or group of up to 6 people. The minimum age is 8 years old, so long as children measure over 120 cm in height and are accompanied by an adult (over 18 years old).
You’ll be kitted out with a harness that clips into a safety line. There’s a handrail that leads up the 350-metre walkway, which takes you to a height of 52 metres above the River Thames which flows past on 3 sides.
Each group is led by a fully trained guide, who’ll explain how to move around on the sloping roof of the dome and accompany you to the top. The whole experience, from the briefing, through the climb to the observation platform and back down lasts 90 minutes. You can opt for a sunset ascent to the light of London’s golden hour.
