Description of Full Day Scramble(18yrs+) on the Snowdon Horseshoe
The beauty doesn't only lie at the top of Wales' highest Mountain; Snowdon is vast and has lots of space full of wonder to explore and climb; in particular, the unique ridges and peaks of the famous Snowdon Horseshoe are a must-see, and a full-day scramble is the best way to experience it!
If you are 18 and over with a keen spirit, regardless of previous experience, you can join us at the Pen y Pass parking area to explore some of the area's most popular hiking routes, and you will soon find out why. Please note that we can allow those 14 and over to join if they are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
This is a grade 1 scramble that will take you over all types of rocky terrain, including the Crib Goch's knife edge ride, through the Pinnacles, Carnedd Ugain to Crib yr Ddysgl onto the main event Snowdon.
The excitement, adventure and endless picturesque views from stunning vantage points don't end there. A descent down to Yr Lliwedd and Lyn Llydaw will end the almost perfect semi-circle that is the iconic Horseshoe route.
Of course, you can't tackle this legendary path through these great mountains alone, and so one of our fully qualified mountain leaders will lead you passionately through this scramble using their unique local expertise and years of experience to guide the group and cater to the abilities and needs of every individual so this 8-hour scramble can be altered due to several factors like weather conditions and fitness.
Speaking of weather, it varies all year round, so you may need different kits depending on the season, but we advise that you bring a sturdy pair of mountain boots, weather-based clothing like basic hiking trousers, fleece, base layer, waterproof shell layer, waterproof over trousers if required and boot gaiters for a Winter scramble.
Any time of the year, you should bring a small rucksack to carry food, water, a warm hat, gloves and other preferred items. We will provide more detailed advice closer to the booking date.
