Description of 3 Day Canoeing and Camping on The River Tweed

Take a journey through time and space, and discover a new way of living.

We run guided canoeing trips down the River Tweed, an ancient frontier between England and Scotland. This is a long journey that takes 3 days to complete, so we’ll paddle during the day and spend two nights under canvas.

Our meeting point is in Berwick-upon-Tweed. This is also the end point of the canoeing trip. We’ll take a minibus from here to the launching point, in Kelso, to pick up the canoes, pack up the equipment and set off.

Our campsite on the first night is an official campsite with full services and facilities. The second night is a more back-to-basics experience - a wild camp on the river bank with a bushcraft meal. We will use tents both nights.

Shared camping equipment and meals are included in the price. You will need to bring your own sleeping bag and mat, as well as changes of clothes and appropriate waterproof layers.

Inexperienced canoeists are welcome, although there are some rapid sections to deal with. Our Canadian canoes are built for two so we can pair stronger paddlers up with newbies.

We don’t put these trips on with great frequency/regularity, so grab the opportunity when it presents itself!
