When did you last try something truly new?

Outrigger canoeing may not be a modern sport - its roots stretch back to the second millennium BC - but we imagine you haven’t had a go at it before. That’s partly because it originated in the South Pacific island nation of Tahiti.

We are the first team to offer outrigger canoeing experiences in East Anglia and one of the first in the UK. The canoes involved in this sport are long and thin, but derive stability from a support float attached to the hull. This design makes the boat sleek and stable as it cuts through the water.

Of course, the unique design means that it has to be used in a specific way . We’ll introduce you to the kit and the techniques over the course of a full day. We’ll provide all the equipment and a vegetarian lunch to keep you going, all on the North Sea off Horsey Beach.

We don’t expect you to have prior knowledge of outrigger canoeing, but this session is fairly demanding. We run it on a one instructor to two participant basis, both of whom should be in good shape and able to swim 100 metres unaided. While the minimum age for the person making the booking is 18 years old, it's 16 for the other.
