Children take to canoeing like ducks to water. Give those ducklings a little adventure!
We organise sessions on the River Stort in Hertfordshire in Canadian canoes which are the perfect size for an adult with one or two children. This is a 2.5-hour activity.
Our base is Kecksys Marina in Sawbridgeworth. We’ll give you a safety briefing on dry land before getting the whole family into canoes and onto the Stort. Then we’ll take you on a figure-of-eight loop up and down the river.
One of our instructors will accompany you for the first part. If you’re confident enough to continue alone, you can complete the second part of the route without our supervision.
This is an activity for adults and children but you need to find our over sixteen’s price to sign the older family members up. We can welcome up to 12 people in total but the group must include multiple adults.

Treat the whole family to a peaceful paddle on the river.
This is a 2.5-hour session, designed for adults and children, in our open Canadian canoes. They’re the perfect craft for exploring tranquil waterways with your loved ones as each canoe can seat up to three adults and children.
We are based on the River Stort in Hertfordshire. You’ll meet us at Kecksys Marina in the village of Sawbridgeworth, where we’ll welcome you and give you a safety briefing on correct canoe use.
Then we’ll accompany you onto the water and guide you downstream to Sawbridgeworth Lock and back. The next part of the journey is upstream between tree-lined banks. If you’re feeling confident, you can complete this part without supervision.
This price is for adults over 16 years old. Children’s places are cheaper, so look for that option to get a family deal. You don't need to be a watersports expert to participate but we recommend that there’s at least one adult with some boating experience per canoe. The maximum group size is 12 people.
