Half Day Trial Flight from Rochester to Lydd

How about a return journey to get the most out of flying?

We offer landaway trial lessons which involve two take-offs, two flights and two landings. This option takes you from our base in the north of Kent, Rochester Airport, to Lydd, on the south coast.

We will meet at the airport and go through pre-flight briefings and checks, then set off for Lydd. It’s a beautiful journey, beginning with views over the Thames and Medway estuaries, followed by the green and pleasant land of Kent, and then the white cliffs of the English Channel Coast. After a short break, we’ll make the return journey.

The aeroplane for this experience is a Cessna 172. The flight will be led by a professional pilot who can allow you to fly the plane when airborne using the dual controls. This is an experience that’s best shared because the 172 can take a passenger. It’s possible for both participants to have a go at flying, one on the way and one on the return.

The specs of the plane mean that everyone must be 6 foot tall (198 cm) or less, and weigh less than 17 stone (105 kg).
