Climbing has become one of the fastest-growing sports in recent years; following the release of ‘Free Solo’ and legendary climber Alex Honnold’s first-ever free solo ascent of El Capitan, it has exploded in popularity – and with good reason. Climbing is an all-inclusive sport that perfectly combines fun, adventure and exercise into one incredible experience. Whether you’re looking to mix up your workout routine, face your fears or just have a great day with your friends and family, climbing is definitely the experience for you! So without further ado, her are our top 5 reasons why you should go climbing in the UK.
1. It’s a total body workout
It should come to no surprise that climbing requires at least some physics exertion – it takes strength, muscles and balance to be able to pull yourself up a vertical wall – and is one of the main benefits of taking up climbing. When you climb you use nearly all of the major muscle groups in the body (and minor ones), from your leg muscles all the way to your fingers, you might even use muscles you didn’t even know you had! So why not mix it up and add some fun to your workout routine by going climbing!
