Cheddar Caving Club

Welcome to the Cheddar Caving Club

We are based in Cheddar, and are conveniently located a short drive from all major Mendip cave systems.

We have been operating since 1998, and have around 40 members. We welcome new members, even if you have no caving experience, and we hold regular training sessions above and below ground in local caves, to teach and improve skills and confidence of our members. These training sessions can be as long or as short as members feel they need.

When you start we can loan you the necessary equipment including:

• Oversuits
• Helmets
• Caving bag
• Ladder
• Spreaders
• Caribiners
• Straps
• Lights
• Belts
• Rope
• Drills
• Boiler suits
• Knee pads

However we do suggest you invest in your own boiler suit, pair of wellies and a pair of rubber gloves to get you started.
