Tips if you are going to do Canoeing in United Kingdom

If you’re looking for a fun adventure holiday, look no further than canoeing! There are plenty of centres all across the UK that offer a huge variety of experiences, that you are sure to love. But if you want further convincing, we have the 5 top reasons why you should check out canoeing holidays in the UK.
1. Keep fit on your trip
Canoeing is a great, low impact sport that will allow you to passively burn calories whilst making memories to last a lifetime – you’ll be so distracted by the beautiful scenery, or trying not to capsize(!), that you won’t even notice how far you’ve paddled. Furthermore, canoeing builds up strength in your arms and shoulders, and uses core strength to help you from toppling over, so really, it’s a full-body workout whilst enjoying a fun-filled adventure. Sun’s out guns out!

2. Everyone is welcome, from couples to families
Whilst people go canoeing to escape from their busy day-to-day lives, it is by no means an isolated sport. Canoes generally carry 2-4 people (some even go up to 6!), so even if you desperately want to leave society behind for a weekend, you’ll still have to be somewhat social. However, the easy solution is to bring the people you love! There’s nothing better than getting together a group of friends or bringing you family with you to escape for a while – building stronger bonds and enjoying exclusive ‘together time’ as well.

3. You don’t need any prior experience
Water sports in general are very inclusive – not many people would have had the chance to experience them before, and therefore most will teach you as you go. This is also the case with Canoeing. As most Britons don’t own a canoe, you’ll get taught everything you need to know in order to make the most out of your time on the water – there’s no need to worry, adventurers of all levels are welcome!

4. Get lost in nature
One of the main allures of canoeing is to escape the claustrophobic bustling of everyday life, and to get away from the cities to recharge in a natural, fresh environment. The ambience that paddling down a river provides is absolutely unparalleled – the sound of the trees rustling around you, the freshness of the water streaming alongside you, and the soft river breeze caressing your face. It really is the perfect way to relax and get ready for the week ahead.

5. Choose your difficulty
Whether you’re a chill seeker or more of an adrenaline junkie, there’s a canoe holiday waiting for you! If you want a little more excitement than a leisurely paddle down a river, why not test your limits and try white water rapids, or even sea canoeing! Whatever your level, there’s a canoe adventure for you!

When should I go canoeing in the UK?
Canoeing in the UK is perfect all-year round, it just depends on the place or type of canoeing you wish you do. Whilst river canoeing is perfect for anytime of the year, our personal suggestion would be during late autumn/winter – during those clear days it’s the perfect way to wind down, especially with these busy months. Take advantage of the tides and current during late winter/early spring if you’re looking for an adrenaline fix. Whatever you want to do, there’s a canoe waiting for you!
