We are Carnlough Bay Boat Tours, a marine sightseeing tour operator in the beautiful seaside town of Carnlough, Northern Ireland. Surrounded on three sides by the Antrim Coast and Glens Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the Irish Sea on the other, this is a stunning place to go for a boat ride.

Our boat is the Curiosity, a converted lifeboat with a gorgeous yellow and black paint job and a unique design. As well as the colours and the swooping lines at the prow, the boat has numerous large windows which let passengers enjoy sweeping views of the land and sea. On top of that, we have several pairs of binoculars on board which you will be able to use.

Carnlough Harbour was built to transport the stone mined at local quarries out of town and the connecting railway line is still visible. It was also a filming location for the Game of Thrones series - any fans should keep an eye out for the flight of harbour stairs where Arya Stark climbs out of the water. Sailing out of the harbour we get panoramas of the town and hills behind and the open sea in the other direction. The waters that lie off the coast of Carnlough are full of life. Seals return from feeding to bask on the rocks, seabirds fly out to sea from their nests in the cliffs and dolphins and other visitors are commonly spotted swimming past.

Our standard trip takes us from Carnlough to Glenarm, a neighbouring village. On the way, we pass Black Rock, a favourite spot for seals, and enjoy views of Glencloy and Glenarm, two of County Antrim’s famous valleys. Passengers can get out in Glenarm and explore the village before catching a bus back, or continue with us as we visit an Atlantic salmon farm before returning to the start point.

The Curiosity can comfortably take 12 people, adults and children. Dogs are welcome on the first trip of the day. You can book a place on any of our trips as an individual or small group, or hire out the whole boat for larger parties. With private bookings, you can choose different routes and itineraries.
