Welcome to Canal Boat Escapes

We are an Royal Yachting Association (RYA) accredited boat handling company based on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal in Barnoldswick, close to the Lancashire and Yorkshire borders.

Our location offers a varied training resource for both the RYA Practical Inland Waterways Helmsman Course and RYA Inland Waters Crew Course.

You can also combine your course with a short break on our training narrowboat Grace.

Dont worry íf you are a beginner or someone wishing to brush up your boat handling skills, we will endeavour to ensure you feel relaxed and confident throughout the course.

We also offer day boat hire from Lower Park Marina in Barnoldswick. Our purpose built 30ft narrow boat 'Tiger Lily', has all of the facilties you need, including:

• Central heating
• Flushing toilet
• Cooking facilities, including crockery, tea towels, washing-up liquid.

In addition, a welcome pack of tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided for you on arrival!

At our base we have a well stocked gift shop offering traditional canal-ware, maps, souvenirs, ice cream, sweets etc.
