We are a flying school operating in Heathfield; we specialise in microlight flights and are passionate about helping people reach new heights and learn to fly.

For our flight experiences, we take flight enthusiasts on adventures in the modern Pipistrel Alpha Trainer; like many microlights, it has a light and mobile structure, but it is well-built with the latest machinery and methods to form a modern wonder of avionics.

We are passionate about welcoming new students every day, and the Pipistrel Alpha Trainer is perfect for beginning the learning process of flying; our professional instructors are best equipped to show you how unique this aircraft is and how freeing flying can be.

At Smiley Wings Aviation, we cater to so many aspiring pilots with our trial flights to provide a taste of the joys of flying and our one-day course, which is ideal for more aspiring pilots to guide them closer towards gaining a pilots license in the future and providing them with essential skills.

We offer flights at two airfields, but our East Sussex location can be found at Bradleys Lawn Airfield in Heathfield. Head to Cross-In-Hand, and once there, turn off to the farm; you will see a tarmac drive opposite the tennis club entrance. It is signed to Stuart Ford Fencing Supplies and English Woodlands. You will know you are going in the right direction if you pass the 700ft TV transmitter; you should then bear right on to the unmade track close to the entrance to English Woodland. This is a mile-long track made of dirt and concrete. Drive on until you reach the farm.
