Bristol & Wessex Aeroplane Club is an aviation club that was founded back in 1927 with the aim of providing access to flights and aircraft displays to Bristol and the surrounding areas. It is owned and run by pilots who are passionate about it and will gladly share the joy of flying an aeroplane with anyone who is interested in the exciting world of aviation.
Our staff is comprised of highly experienced pilots who have flown thousands of hours and capable of providing an excellent teaching experience. Whether you are looking to take on your first flight or have some previous experience flying but want to polish your skills, the instructors will help you achieve your objectives.
At Bristol & Wessex Aeroplane Club, we welcome anyone from teenagers to adults who love flying and want to learn more about this spectacular world. You can find a great variety of options that allow for a unique experience. There are three trial lesson flights (30-minute, 60-minute and land away trial lesson) that serve as a great taster session.
On the other hand, those interested in learning how to fly can do so through our courses, under the careful guidance of our professional instructors. There are various programmes to choose such as Night rating, PPL and post PPL programmes, PPL exam and RT practical guidance and Flying time in Europe, LAPL and IMC.
Bristol & Wessex Aeroplane Club owns several aeroplanes including various Cessna and Piper models, each handling and behaving slightly different at all stages of a flight. The aircraft are maintained according to the highest CAA standards which guarantee a top experience.
